The walls of Caravan are covered in the paintings of Mark Symczak, a NYC based painter and father to co-owner Lenora Howl. His work is one of the many things that makes Caravan more than just a retail shop and drink spot, and we are so proud to have the chance to display selections of his life’s work at the Edna Carlsten Art Gallery in the Noel Fine Arts Center on the UWSP campus. This exhibit is a small sampling of a career that spanned 40 years and hundreds of paintings, drawings, collages, set designs, and sculptures. This selection simply represents the overlap of life and art, the harmony of these two threads, and the incongruity created in return.
