This month in Speak Easy, we will be speaking with Dez Rockweit of Boudoir by Dez who offers personal sensual photography sessions that allow you to release and capture your sexual personality. We thought she might be the best person to talk to about the intimacy of an Italian liqueur called Nocino. Made from macerated green walnut husks, then pressed and aged, Nocino stands out on the shelf because of its pitch black color. How did black become such a symbol of sexuality? What is Boudior photography? And, in addition to its color, what makes Nocino one of the sexiest liqueurs at Caravan? This episode explores the deep dark waters inside of us as we use sensory experiences to learn more about ourselves.

COCKTAILS

ONE LAST THING BEFORE WE GO
1 oz Nocino
1 oz Fernet
Lemon Rind
Stir Nocino and Fernet in rocks glass with ice. Express oil from lemon peel and wipe the rim of the glass. Discard the peel, enjoy the drink.

NOCINO BAMBOO
1/4 oz Nocino
1 1/2 oz Dry Vermouth
1/4 oz Fino Sherry
1 Dash Orange Bitters
Stir all together with ice. Strain into coupe.

BLACK MANHATTAN
2 oz Bourbon
1 oz Nocino
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
COmbine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir, stir, stir. Strain into a coupe and garnish with a cherry.

NOCINO OLD FASHIONED
2 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Nocino
3 dashes Angostura
Orange twist
Stir all ingredients in a rocks glass with ice. Strain into glass with fresh ice. Garnish with orange twist.

RUM WALNUT ALEXANDER
2 oz Aged Rum
1 Oz Nocino
1 oz Heavy Cream
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into coupe. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

ITALIAN SIDECAR
1 1/2 oz Brandy
3/4 oz Nocino
1/2 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
Lemon Slice for garnish
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass filled with new ice. Garnish with lemon slice.
